In the past two months, I've been struggling to create the newly written comics on top of the other work that I've mention in the last update. (EWFM, SuperRAD!, etc)
While the comics are still at a stopping point, I've started animating a little differently and went along with a little test animation.
This was a little animation test that took me about 10 days to complete. I love this animation style so much better
In the past, I've been using a rather lazy method (symbols and tweens) and I feel as if the style felt too stiff so I started practicing this beautiful frame by frame method.
To help promote this method, I've asked my good friend and fellow co-producer of the EWFM, Billy Crinion, to retrace some bits I did for Camp Cowardly while I continue new progress with it (So I don't have to restart the whole process).
So yay, Anthony is actually animating.
In other news,
For those who follow my stream on Picarto, I'm highly considering to change my platform to Twitch.
Picarto is a nice, art based stream service, but their strict and indifferent reflections towards embedding streams has set me back so I can't embed the stream to Anthamation.com.
Hopefully this transition will be effortless and all of my Picarto followers would eventually find their way to the new channel.
I've also been working on a new commission sheet and soon I'll be able to do work for you! :D
There's going to be a page dedicated to the commission sheet on here so that's gonna be cool.
At this point, I'm not even sure if continuing AnthaTale AS3 is worth my time (considering that Undertale isn't even relevant these days)
It's possible that I may release the .fla file publicly (Maybe put up for a poll or something)
That's about it guys.
Look forward to comics, more animation tests and other things.
So in case you kiddos haven't noticed, I haven't been around to updating this website in a while and there's a reason for that. Well, a couple of reasons.
First off, I'm still working on The Eddsworld Fan Movie (Formally known as Eddsworld: The Movie) and Camp Cowardly, an Eddsworld fan short.
Progress is slow, but surely steady. I've recorded a time lapse which will be released soon (I hope)
The next reason is because I've been sick lately, both physically and mentally.
I've recently been unofficially diagnosed with Aspergers (ESP-BURR-GERS), which is, for those who don't know, is a high performance disease on the autism spectrum. Does this mean I'm autistic?
Yes, and no.
I explain a lot more in detail in this neat update video me and my fellow co-producers at EWFM wrapped up last Christmas!
So yeah, in this video, we pretty much discussed about projects and our progress with the movie and so forth, except we went more in depth with our details of what exactly what we're doing. We even talked about our personal projects and lives as well (I took up most of that bit)
Check out the video, leave a nice comment. We talked quite a mouthful
So, I've been pretty busy writing the official pilot for the first Anthamation series!
You remember the guys from the Anthamation comics? You like em? No? Too bad.
I'm happy to announce that those characters will finally be adapted to their own series!
I present to you,
(Logo may not be final)
This is the first animated series that everything will be written, animated, and produced by only Anthamation Studios!
I've been thinking about an adaptive series for a very long time, and after a huge 5 year hiatus in production of creating one (after the stop of working on Best Driver Ever! :D), this pilot will be launched with confidence!
The pilot itself will be a very long pilot (Probably 20-30 minutes??) It's not decided whether it would be split up into parts. So be prepared for that.
In other news, I'm happy to announce that me and Zack Rogers have finally caught up (After 3 years) and he has agreed to voice his part in the SuperRad! Series!
So this means auditions to do his voice are no longer available
However! We are still looking for a reliable music director! If you have a passion for writing music, we would love to work with you!
Everybody remember Anthatale AS3? Seems like a dead thing right? HAHAHA no. I'm still working on it.
Progress has been at a higher rate, but it's not frequent.
I can guarantee that it will happen, but I can't guarantee that'll it will happen soon.
One last thing, If you haven't checked out the latest comic, here it is:
I'm also happy to announce that THREE new comics are in the works at the moment! With the wonderful help by Wren Gilliam writing two of them, and me writing one that's going to be released very soon.
So basically, A lot of things are happening, surely but slowly. (That should be my motto)
I turned 17 on November 13th, and Anthamation turned 4 years on December 23rd!
(I'm expecting a present from you now.)
So yeah, that's basically it. We've got some sweet surprises
So until next update, stay frosty!
Happy 4th of July to our fans in the USA! After a long, 8 month hiatus, comic 11 is finally out, and it's our first animated comic!
Yes, I'm still working on the Eddsworld movie and AnthaTale CS3. Thank you all and I hope you enjoy the comic! :)
Alrighty so, what the hell happened to you Anthony? I'll tell you.
I left the in website for a small hiatus to help me catch up on my grades in school. I've been dealing with a bunch of stress lately and I recently hired a therapist to help me with some new social problems I've encountered in high school. I'll get into detail with that another day probably.
But after the hiatus, I quickly got to work on Eddsworld: The Movie's upcoming minisode, Camp Cowardly, the 2nd half.
The animation was split into 2 parts for 2 animators to work on. The first half was given to Eneko Agudo and the second half was given to me.
I've been animating it for 3 days straight with no break and I've got a little sample of what I've work on so far right here:
This was to show the difference between my rough and clean in-betweens when I'm animating to a different motion.
I started the animation with this detailed keyframe
And then I rigged the character from there
So yeah, if anyone wanted some tips on how I animated, there ya go.
Where's the comics? I've been thinking about a good one lately and I just haven't gotten the time to draw it yet. I was also thinking I should add a special something to the comic to make it more...interesting.
In case you guys haven't seen it yet, I've done an interview with Marc, the Director of the Eddsworld movie here:
Fair warning though, my laptop was responsible for the shitty audio quality, so sorry about that xP
So I guess that's about it. See you guys around
Here's to another bit of silence, but that doesn't mean I haven't been busy!
I've been developing a game of my own, (A parody of Toby Fox's, "Undertale"), and I've been keeping it under the radar for some time until today!
Go here to play! http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/671734
Yo Yo Yo! Happy new year guys! And as always on a new year, you make promises you never keep! And as for us, our resolution is to complete the Eddsworld: The Movie trailer by Summer 2016!
So, what's become of the website? What's all this stuff? Well, in a sudden rush to make everything more optimized for bigger displays, I've fiddled around with the coding and basically expanded the view of the website!
And the stuff on the home page? Yes! Those are new flash-animated and coded buttons to give you a good impression of what we are based of! (Unfortunately, for mobile users, flash player is only available for PC/Mac users)
Another thing you may not have noticed, was the Weekly polls added to the Home page! This was originally going to be a test to see the traffic going on in Anthamation.com! But since I'm so generous, I'm leaving that there ;)
I'll be uploading new questions (almost) every week! (No personal information is stored!)
One more thing, If you don't want to miss ANY of these update again, which I'm pretty sure you don't want, There is a new addon to this page that allows you to sign up to get updates via Email! Your email will be stored on a roster, and every time I post something, it will be sent to you in your inbox! How cool is that!?
Also, another thing I want to gladly announce, is that I've been [Unexpectedly] promoted on the Eddsworld Movie team to a Co-Producer! Not to also mention, I will be voice acting as...(DRUM ROLL PLS!!!) Edd! The main character!!! :D
This is a huge opportunity I couldn't miss!
The details are in this video here (at 2:50 to the rest):
And here's another video I was in:
So yeah! I'm really excited to be playing the lead role AND animating bits of the movie and the full trailer!
Enough of that, it has just occurred to me that we've reached 100 FOLLOWERS ON TWITTER! Yay for that! Thank you guys! (for those who don't know, it's @anthamation)
Others may say that this is just a petty milestone, but it's good enough for me :) (Also this is the first drawing I did in 2016!)
Well guys, that's about it. After having to completely rebuild and reset my computer, I have to redownload all my software so, including flash (I have Flash 8 as an alternative), so it'll take me at least 3 more days to get back in production.
Thanks alot guys! You're truly the best! <3
-Anthony Rees, Founder
(P.S, Anthamation turned 3 years old on December 23rd, 2015!)
Alrighty so, let's make this short. November 13th, was my 16th birthday (Time to change that on my social media) so here's a comic about THAT
But something sad happened on that day. Paris was attacked and out of the kindness of my heart, I took a little time to animated this gif thingy in response.
The website will be updated next week! (Maybe!
so....Stay fresh guys!
So I was a little depressed (as was explained here) I eventually called it quits for this comic but luckily, a great friend of mine, Billy Crinion, has stepped up to illustrate this week's comic! Woo Hoo! Be sure to subscribe to him on YouTube and check out some of his work! Hope you guys had a great Halloween! [Written by Anthony Rees, Illustrated by Billy Crinion]
What's that? Anthamation looks different? Could you say that it looks a little....spooky?
3 New Halloween comics coming up! Here's one for the week before Halloween! Stay SPOOKY!
